Built in 1975 and remodeled in 2006, The Cabin at Muggs Pond offers the perfect amount of mountain seclusion just 10 minutes (and three stop signs) away from The University of the South and St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School campuses. Full of rustic charm and eclectic flare, The Cabin also comes equipped with all the modern necessities and features you need during a weekend getaway or an extended vacation.
Step outside The Cabin’s back door to easily access a 1¾ mile trail perfect for walking, running or biking. Take the short walk down to Muggs Pond for plenty of fishing, canoeing and swimming. Enjoy morning cups of coffee or evening cocktails on The Cabin’s covered back porch. Grill up delicious dinners on The Cabin’s large side deck, complete with built-in bench seating.
The Cabin's great room includes a beautiful stained-glass window and large mountain stone fireplace, fully stocked with firewood for cold winter nights. Each of the bedrooms on the main level has its own 1/2 bath (toilet and sink) and shares a tub shower with an adjoining bedroom. The Cabin’s original full bath is also located on the main level, off of the kitchen. Walk up the spiral staircase to reach The Cabin’s loft bedroom, which has a cozy sitting area/den adjacent to it ideal for reading books, watching movies or playing board games with friends.
Excellent for any occasion (Myers Point, a favorite venue for Sewanee weddings and receptions; is only 1/4 mile away!), The Cabin is sure to make your trip to the mountain one to remember.

Summary: We attended a family wedding on Meyer's Point. Our VRBO was perfectly located to the event. Everyone commented on how well the configuration of the rooms and bathrooms were situated. We didn't use the kitchen much, but it was well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed the back porch! 5 stars for sure! Thank you, Bill and Carrie.

Summary: The cabin consists of an OLD log cabin with a newer wing added that blends the old with the new. The cabin is furnished warmly with eclectic art and objects... always something new to greet the eye. The fireplace is massive and draws very well. Two decks. Kitchen is amazing with updated appliances. Outstanding property with a pond and walking trails. Great for large groups. Highly recommended.

Summary: Billl and Carrie are wonderful host. The house was perfect for family and friends. Wonderful side porch for reading and napping and a lovely fire pit surrounded by comfy Adirondack chairs. Hiking trails are easily marked with a hiking map available. The kitchen lacks for nothing and there is a large gas grill available for use!! And the large bowl of delicious snacks was a huge hit We loved our stay

Summary: I love The Cabin @ Mugg's Pond. The property is both spacious and cozy; we were a group of 8 friends, and there was room for all of us to hang out together, but also for people to have their own space when the need to recharge arose. Comfortably and attractively furnished, the kitchen is a particular highlight. Recently updated, and fantastically equipped, it was perfect for accommodating many chefs. The hosts are a pleasure with which to interact - they are quick to respond to any queries, and go above and beyond to make sure that the stay at The Cabin is an enjoyable one. I look forward to a return visit....

Summary: We had an absolutely incredible weekend. The house was stocked with anything you might need. There was plenty of room for 10 of us. So peaceful and serene. The best getaway. I would recommend to anyone looking for a family/friends getaway. The only issue was the bedroom on top floor had wasps but the owners had spray. Thanks to the owners for such an amazing weekend. We will definitely book again!

Summary: We were in town for a wedding. My husband, our youngest son (20) and my sister stayed here. The house had plenty of room for us and guests off and on for the 5 days we were here. The Cabin is rustic but beautiful with every amenity you could hope for. I appreciated all of the bathrooms and the toiletries provided as well as a Kurig with plenty of pods ready to go. Our son loved the snack basket. 😉 The Cabin was comfy, inviting and had everything we needed. Plus it's pretty fast and easy to get to both Sewanee and Monteagle. Thank you so much for everything! We'll look to stay here if/when we're back in the future.
